Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm Wedding Venue in New Jersey

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels both elevated and grounded in nature, Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm offers one of the most unique settings in New Jersey. Tucked away in Jobstown, this family-owned farm blends rustic charm with thoughtful, refined details. The property spans hundreds of acres, giving couples space to celebrate in a way that feels open, relaxed, and intentional.

From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels different. Long driveways, rolling pastures, and historic buildings create a quiet sense of escape. It’s the kind of place where your wedding feels like a full experience, not just a single event.

A New Jersey Wedding Venue with Multiple Beautiful Outdoor and Indoor Spaces

One of the standout features of Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm is how many distinct spaces it offers. Couples can move naturally throughout the day without ever leaving the property. Everything in on spot: getting ready suites, multiple ceremony locations based on preference and weather, multiple cocktail hour spaces, reception space, and countless photo opportunity locations. See the photos below so you can truly envision every space and how your wedding day can look/feel!

The Farmhouse Mansion Is Perfect For Both Partners To Get Ready

The layout and space makes your wedding day morning easy and fun! Upstairs is bright and refined with spacious rooms and colorful, vintage bathrooms (Yes, multiple!) to for you and your closest people. The top floor has a feminine touch with soft blue hues and plenty of natural light to do hair and makeup. The main floor is rustic and cozy with warm wood and equestrian details. With multiple rooms to get ready in, there’s space for wedding attire, some pre-ceremony lunch, and more! So each partner can get ready in the same building providing easy communication while securing privacy!

The Ceremony Lawn That Offers Wide-Open Views For Your Vows

With multiple location options on 70 acres for ceremony, you are covered rain or shine! You take your time walking down the asile from the steps of the rear of the Mansion to the grand green space ahead. Worried about all that sun on you? Locust offers another outdoor option (pictured above) to move your ceremony to the right into their more covered where their tall, whimsical trees provide cool shade. As a photographer, I adore both settings as they are very open, allowing me space to get emotional reactions and a variety of angles! Incase of rainy weather, couples can get married in The Stone Barn, which still allows for open-air and a sense of being connected to the outdoors.

The 17th Century Stone Barn That Creates An Interactive Cocktail Hour

Think grand barn doors, a reclaimed wooden loft, and ambient lighting that creates a welcoming romantic ambiance. Guests enjoy themselves inside The Stone Barn or roam around outside the front and back of the building where you can set up lounging furniture, a mobile bar, lawn games, and more. I love this layout as it lets the guests meander through a variety of settings and I’ve seen each area customized so wonderfully to the couples’ preferences/ideas. One couple had vintage furniture outside while another couple opted for a fresh oysters stand. Oh- did I mention there are adorable donkeys on property that can join your cocktail hour. They make such a fun, interactive photo-op for your friends and family!

The Breezeway Barn That Offers A Cozy, Lively Reception Celebration

The large open-air barn featuring 3,000 sq. ft. is designed for lively celebrations. There’s long farmhouse and round wooden tables with unique seating for up to 150 guests. Every time I have photographed a wedding here, the layout and design is always pleasantly different! Sometimes there is a disco ball, other times there are florals hanging above the dance floor. There is ample amount of space for dancing, desserts tables, and of course the fire pit outside will be blazing when night sweeps in.

The Aesthetic & Bonus Features

This venue does rustic in a way that still feels elevated. Nothing feels overly themed or forced. Instead, it’s a clean blend of natural textures, wood tones, and soft light. It’s the kind of place where your design can go in many directions. I would describe the wedding venue in three words: rustic, refined, and intentional. Whether you lean minimal and modern or soft and romantic, the venue supports your vision without overpowering it.

Animals are welcomed on property so your furry friend can be involved on your wedding day! Here is a blog if you need fun, creative ways to include your pet in your wedding day.

Plus, with plenty of events throughout the year, it’s a home base to return to for future events and relieve the peace and beauty of the location.

The Spacious Layout Allows Your Wedding To Flow Naturally

You can move from getting ready to the ceremony and into the reception without feeling rushed. Each space transitions seamlessly into the next. The open property also gives guests room to relax and explore. It creates a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings At Locust Hall

Year Round Amazing Wedding Photo Opportunities

The possibilities here truly feel endless. Every season brings something completely different. In the spring, fresh blooms and soft greens fill the property. Summer brings lush fields and long golden evenings. Fall is rich with color, texture, and warmth. Even winter has a quiet, minimal beauty. Because of this, no two weddings ever look the same. Each couple brings their own vision, and the property adapts beautifully. There are always new corners to explore and new light to work with. It keeps every wedding feeling fresh, creative, and genuinely unique.

Photographer-friendly Staff That Curates An Effortless Experience For Couples

Another reason I love working here is the team behind it all. The staff at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm are incredibly photographer-friendly. They understand how a wedding day flows and support that process fully. They are kind, welcoming, and are one big family. At the same time, they are organized and professional. This balance makes a huge difference. It allows vendors to stay focused, relaxed, and fully present. When a team works this well together, the entire day runs more smoothly.

Easy-Going Couples That Prioritize Documentary Photography

The couples who choose Locust Hall are also a big part of what makes it so special. They tend to value connection over perfection. They want a day that feels effortless, not rushed. Many are drawn to the natural setting and appreciate being surrounded by open space. They are often playful, present, and ready to enjoy every moment. That energy always shows in the photos. It leads to candid, meaningful images that feel true to who they are.
