A Sentimental, Joy-Filled October Wedding Day

Nina and Shannon are the kind of couple who bring warmth, humor, and intentionality everywhere they go — and their mid-October wedding at Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey was the perfect reflection of that all couples, including LGBTQ+ couples, can bring light to chilly autumn day. Their first look set the tone for the entire day — emotional, real, and incredibly moving. The did a “true” first look ( I call it) where both partners saw each other at the same time. They both stood in front of each other, eyes closed, and opened to gaze upon their future spouse. Both Nina and Shannon were overwhelmed in the sweetest way, taking in the moment with full hearts. And then Shannon surprised Nina with one of the most tender gestures of the day: reading a poem from the book “Poems I Read to You While You Were Asleep.” Nina looked stunning in her pearl-detailed ballgown from Seng Couture — classic, elegant, and full of soft movement perfect for a fall wedding day. Shannon wore a stylish white jacket with black pants from Bindle and Keep, a look that felt timeless, clean, and perfectly her. These two looked incredible together!!! Surrounded by their closest people, the ceremony felt incredibly intimate despite being within such a grand historic venue.

Stained Glass Decor Details and the Sweetest Reception Surprises

Shannon brought so much character to their reception by hand-making all of the stained-glass table numbers — delicate, colorful, and completely unique. Their cake plate was also handmade, another touch that added warmth and artistry to their details. Throughout the entire evening, their focus on family and love was undeniable. They surprised their moms with a “mom dance,” which had everyone tearing up. And one of the most joyful moments of the night was celebrating Shannon’s grandmother Joan’s birthday — the whole room lit up for her. They ended their Olde Mill Inn wedding with a bubble exit — fun, bubbly (literally), and absolutely magical under the lights. It was the perfect way to close out a day that felt full of joy, laughter, and everything that makes these two such a special pair.
