While I was in Canada for work, I made it a point to visit Banff National Park everyday I could despite the gloomy forecast for the week. So after sitting in my car for half an hour trying to hype myself up, I went out in the rain to explore Lake Minnewanka. While walking I overheard this couple say “swim” and noticed one person wearing swimming trunks! Being the person I am, I went up to complete strangers undressing on the shoreline and asked if I could photograph them in the water. So formed an instant friendship. It felt like we knew each others for years. Alyssa and Lucas were so funny and easy to be around. We all laughed uncontrollably as they polar plunged into the Canadian water. It wasn’t winter but the water was still freaking cold.
Alyssa and Lucas are a prime example of why I love traveling. Meeting new people, experiencing new things, and above all – surprising yourself outside your comfort zone. When was the last time you pushed yourself out of your comfort zone? I challenge you to say hi to the next stranger that peaks your interest.
