As a documentary wedding photographer based in New Jersey, I have had the privilege of capturing countless love stories, each uniquely beautiful in its own way. Alex and Colin’s wedding day at Johnson Locust Hall Farm in Jobstown, NJ, was a true testament to the power of love, resilience, and honoring those who are deeply missed.
The festivities unfolded at the rustic and enchanting Farm House Mansion, a charming wedding venue flooded with natural light, joyous laughter, and the happy tears that accompany the most special moments. Alex’s bridal party surprised her with a letter album, which brought both the bride and her maid of honor to tears. The energy quickly picked up when the bride popped champagne in the bathtub, a fun wedding tradition! The groom and groomsmen chilled downstairs, creating cherished memories before the ceremony.
The day was marked by an emotional first look under a sprawling tree and a ceremony radiating with joy. The mid-June weather was on our side, gracing us with sunshine and a playful wind that elegantly danced with Alex’s veil. However, amidst the joy, there was a poignant absence. Colin’s father, who had passed away before the wedding, was profoundly missed. To honor his memory, the couple reserved a seat at the ceremony adorned with his framed picture. A heartfelt tribute continued at the reception, where his picture overlooked the wedding cake, a silent cheer frozen in time. The celebration continued into the night, as friends and family joined in a high-energy reception, a fitting finale to a day that blended love, remembrance, and the promise of a beautiful journey ahead. As a New Jersey wedding photographer, I find immense joy in preserving these authentic moments, and Alex and Colin’s wedding was a true celebration of love, life, and the remarkable power of shared memories.
