WOAH! This year has been one of the best years of my life and business career by far! Throughout twelve what seems incredibly short months, I’ve met so many amazing couples and traveled to new terrains. With that being said, I had to recap with some of my favorite highlights from this past year…
BEST DRESS
Grace is wearing the most stunning, statement dress I’ve seen this year! She looked like true royalty in this Demetrios Bridal gown which she found at the one and only Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. Fun fact, they were filming an episode of Say Yes To The Dress and she got to meet Randy! The detail, neckline, and volume on this dress turned everyones’ heads, but mostly her now-husband Alex’s!
FAVORITE FIRST LOOK
This traditional first look brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Scott collapsed as Kaitlynn walked down the aisle at The Stone House At Stirling Ridge. To say the least, everyone was overcome with emotion for the rest of the ceremony and there were many, many happy tears. I shot this while second shooting for Sage Lynn Photography.
BEST FIRST DANCE
Ashley and Anthony got fed up with the common challenges of planning a big wedding and didn’t want to wait any longer to marry each other – so they eloped within a month! In The White Dog Cafe in Philadelphia, they shared their first dance as husband and wife surrounded by loved ones and the unique atmosphere of the cafe. They didn’t need a big ballroom with smoke machines and spotlights. They just needed each other in this moment.
FAVORITE DETIAL SHOT
Meghan and Zach are travelers at heart. They love seeing new places in this wonderful world and sharing their adventures together. They collected a lot of old postcards and I just had to use them for this striking photo that perfectly represents their love for adventure and each other. This has personally inspired me to start collecting postcards when I travel with my significant other!
FAVORITE VENUE
Now, this was a tough decision because I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at so many wonderful venues. One venue that keeps coming to mind and brings me so much pleasure to shoot at is Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm in Jobstown New Jersey. It is a remarkable 17th Century Preserved Farm with family roots and rustic charm. There are so many great photo spots, including a sunflower field, a large field for your ceremony, and rustic buildings for receptions. Of course, it would be a crime not to mention the staff are very well organized, helpful, and kind.
It wouldn’t be fair not to give some recognition to other amazing venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at. If you want to live out your fairytale dream you don’t have to travel to Disney. Look no further than Whitby Castle in Rye NY. If you always wanted to have a romantic vineyard wedding, Black River Farms is a great option. The Philadelphia Cricket Club has a stunning, modern ballroom. Maybe you want to be close to the beach? Then Clark’s Landing Yacht Club will steal your heart!
FAVORITE BLOOPER
What? Do you think I don’t photograph the hilarious bloopers?! Meghan and her bridesmaids were gathering on the bed in the bridal suite for a classic champagne shot in their beautiful, silk robes. As you can see below, it didn’t go quite as planned! The bed actually collapsed mid-prep and the photo says the rest! I love the range of reactions here haha – which would you be?
