2021 recap: Reliving The Adventure

WOAH! This year has been one of the best years of my life and business career by far! Throughout twelve what seems incredibly short months, I’ve met so many amazing couples and traveled to new terrains. With that being said, I had to recap with some of my favorite highlights from this past year…

Favorite Photo

This photo encapsulates everything I strive for in photography. To bring out pure emotion, to create moments, creative photography choices, and of course a good ol’ sunset! This was actually one of our last shots for the day. We were packing up to leave this spot, but I just had a gut feeling and I asked if they could just run and dance on the beach for 2 minutes. This was the result – Always go with your gut and always take the extra time for golden hour photos!

BEST DRESS

Grace is wearing the most stunning, statement dress I’ve seen this year! She looked like true royalty in this Demetrios Bridal gown which she found at the one and only Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. Fun fact, they were filming an episode of Say Yes To The Dress and she got to meet Randy! The detail, neckline, and volume on this dress turned everyones’ heads, but mostly her now-husband Alex’s!

FAVORITE FIRST LOOK

This traditional first look brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Scott collapsed as Kaitlynn walked down the aisle at The Stone House At Stirling Ridge. To say the least, everyone was overcome with emotion for the rest of the ceremony and there were many, many happy tears. I shot this while second shooting for Sage Lynn Photography.

BEST FIRST DANCE

Ashley and Anthony got fed up with the common challenges of planning a big wedding and didn’t want to wait any longer to marry each other – so they eloped within a month! In The White Dog Cafe in Philadelphia, they shared their first dance as husband and wife surrounded by loved ones and the unique atmosphere of the cafe. They didn’t need a big ballroom with smoke machines and spotlights. They just needed each other in this moment.

FAVORITE DETIAL SHOT

Meghan and Zach are travelers at heart. They love seeing new places in this wonderful world and sharing their adventures together. They collected a lot of old postcards and I just had to use them for this striking photo that perfectly represents their love for adventure and each other. This has personally inspired me to start collecting postcards when I travel with my significant other!

FAVORITE SUNRISE

This day started at 3 am when I packed up my sleeping tent and drove to Shenandoah National Park. I met Tracey & Jarob at a trailhead and we were on our way! After a short hike, they enjoyed hot coffee on a very windy mountain cliff. Within minutes, we all watched the sun rise into a vibrant, colorful sky. My first, but certainly not my last, sunrise hike.

FAVORITE ELOPEMENT

I was blessed to do a lot of traveling to new places this year! One of my favorites includes Las Vegas, Nevada where I shot Chucky and Olivia’s epic elopement! After getting married in the famous A Little White Chapel on the strip, they soaked up the sun at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

FAVORITE VENUE

Now, this was a tough decision because I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at so many wonderful venues. One venue that keeps coming to mind and brings me so much pleasure to shoot at is Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm in Jobstown New Jersey. It is a remarkable 17th Century Preserved Farm with family roots and rustic charm. There are so many great photo spots, including a sunflower field, a large field for your ceremony, and rustic buildings for receptions. Of course, it would be a crime not to mention the staff are very well organized, helpful, and kind.

It wouldn’t be fair not to give some recognition to other amazing venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at. If you want to live out your fairytale dream you don’t have to travel to Disney. Look no further than Whitby Castle in Rye NY. If you always wanted to have a romantic vineyard wedding, Black River Farms is a great option. The Philadelphia Cricket Club has a stunning, modern ballroom. Maybe you want to be close to the beach? Then Clark’s Landing Yacht Club will steal your heart!

FAVORITE BLOOPER

What? Do you think I don’t photograph the hilarious bloopers?! Meghan and her bridesmaids were gathering on the bed in the bridal suite for a classic champagne shot in their beautiful, silk robes. As you can see below, it didn’t go quite as planned! The bed actually collapsed mid-prep and the photo says the rest! I love the range of reactions here haha – which would you be?

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

I appreciate you whether you entrusted me to document unforgettable memories, simply recommended me to others, or just liked my posts on social media. It all means the world.
